Meet Bev West

Bev West, President of Storytherapy, is a best-selling author and a freelance editor who has worked for the last twenty years with publishers, literary agents and individuals to develop successful books for the commercial marketplace. As an author, Bev’s bestselling series Cinematherapy has inspired eight sequels, been translated into nine languages, and is a daily TV show in primetime on WE, Women’s Entertainment, now in its eighth season. Bev’s cookbook, Culinarytherapy, The Girl's Guide to Food for Every Mood, inspired a weekly syndicated column with Knight Ridder’s What’s Next, and was optioned by Touchstone for a sitcom on ABC. Bev’s last title What Pets Do While You’re at Work, co-written with her husband Jason, was a Booksense bestseller, as well as a featured alternate with Book of the Month Club, Doubleday Book Club, and The Mystery Guild and their latest, a memoir called, Please Don’t Feed the Daisy: Living, Loving and Losing Weight With the World’s Fattest Dog, is publishing from Hyperion for Mother’s Day 2009.

As an editor, Bev works with both fiction and nonfiction, with a specialty in narrative nonfiction, self help, how to, memoir, pop culture, and humor and has worked with many authors and experts including weight loss gurus The 3 Fat Chicks, top bridal fashion designer Claire Petitbone, celebrity entertainment attorney Robert Mayer, Hollywood House Whisperer Anita Rosenberg, Evelyn Resh Director of Sexual Health Services for the world renowned Canyon Ranch, and Rue McClanahan. Bev is an expert at capturing people’s voices, and developing the right message and tone to maximize every book’s potential for connecting commercially, and establishing a brand presence in the marketplace.

Finally, Bev was the lead writer for Monster.com’s Work/Life Balance area, and has written for Self, Redbook, Body and Soul, and TV Guide. Bev is also a copywriter, and has written national campaigns for such companies as Gray Advertising (Diet Coke) Faith Popcorn’s Brain Trust (R.J. Reynolds) Helene Curtis and Netflix. Bev is also a national spokesperson for Netflix.
